Bar The Handsome Gambler
Although the action of the Outer Range series is supposed to take place in Wyoming, the filming did take place in and around Albuquerque, New Mexico. The production used the streets and businesses of Las Vegas, a city of altitude not to be confused with its famous namesake in Nevada.
Only the exterior shots, with a fake sign with the name of the Handsome Gambler, were shot at 123 Bridge Street in the downtown area. For the sequences located inside, the team of the series preferred to use the infrastructures of I-25 Studios in Albuquerque. A small part of Hollywood where films such as Peter Berg’s Lone Survivor , MacGruber and the From Dusk till Dawn series were produced.
A fake pharmacy was also set up nearby to accommodate the scenes in which the character of Autumn, played by Imogen Poots, goes to get her medicine.
Josh Brolin began his acting career at the age of 17 in Richard Donner’s Goonies.
123 Bridge St
A small high-altitude town, located at 1,958 meters, Las Vegas has 13,166 inhabitants. It was founded in 1835.
Prosperous due to its location on the Santa Fe Trail, known for watching General Stephen W. Kearny claim the state of New Mexico from the city’s main plaza, Las Vegas has nothing to do with its namesake in Nevada. There are no casinos here, but small shops and remarkably well-preserved period buildings. A kind of very touristy open-air museum, also acclaimed for a few years by Hollywood studios because of its proximity to Albuquerque.
