“- Can I get you anything?

– A coffee. Are you Italian?

– Yes, Roma

– A banana split, I love that.”

Fernando (Libero De Rienzo), Elena (Roxane Mesquida) and Anaïs (Anaïs Reboux)

For the summer vacations, Anaïs (Anaïs Reboux) and her family are living in a residence in La Palmyre. Accompanied by her sister Elena (Roxane Mesquida), they go out of their residence to have a drink on the terrace. Arriving at the bar-restaurant Le Golfy, the two sisters are harpooned by a young Italian man who offers them to sit at his table.

Meeting Fernando (Libero De Rienzo), Elena falls instantly in love with the Italian. Ignoring her little sister, Elena goes back to the vacation house without her sister, whom she leaves by the side of the road.

Catherine Breillat being a director and a novelist, the release of the film À ma soeur ! occurred at the same time as the publication of the novel of the same name. This is not the first time the director has brought one of her novels to the screen. In 1999, she had already adapted A Real Young Girl, and in 1988, 36 Fillette.
