“- 22 Pierrot?

– No 16

– 56 !

– But wait, it stops at 49.

– I’m not at all Lotto…”

Gilou (Lionel Abelanski), Mariette (Helena Noguerra), Thibaut (Vincent Elbaz) and Stephe (Claudia Tagbo)

Seen earlier in the film when Thibaut (Vincent Elbaz) travels to Montignac-Charente on his moped, the bar Le Donjon is the hangout of the workers of the Morvanec dummy factory. They meet there to play the Lotto together.

Unaccustomed to these rites and customs, Thibaut is almost unmasked by announcing the 56 for the grid. It is at this moment that he invents a past as an ex-convict and ex-rich kid, allowing him to integrate more easily with the workers. To succeed his father, the company’s boss, the young man must spend six months at the bottom of the ladder.

During its first broadcast, the TV movie Au bas de l’ échelle gathered 7.9 million viewers.

Bar Le Donjon

The bar le Donjon owes its name to the donjon of Montignac, the only vestige of the old eponymous castle.
