It was while visiting his sister, an Erasmus student where she was living with other young Europeans, that Cédric Klapisch had the idea for “Spanish Apartment”. It was this motley mix that caught his attention.
As a result of the film, the expression “Spanish Apartment” has become commonplace to describe this form of shared accommodation between people from different cultures and countries.
