Serge decided to have a vasectomy in order to stop having children. Having to go to La Rochelle, Francesca (Maya Sansa) offers to drop him off. During the journey, their exchange will install a doubt in Serge. When he arrived at the operating room, he admitted that he did not want to undergo surgery.
In reality it is not the hospital in La Rochelle but the Clinique de l’Atlantique in Puilboreau.
Originally, Fabrice Luchini wanted to direct Bicycling with Molière and shoot the entire film in DV format. He preferred to abandon the idea and let his friend director Philippe Le Guay make the film.
