Angoulême courthouse
First production of the saga La Loi de… La Loi de Barbara opened the courthouse in Angoulême. The place became a must, appearing successively in La Loi de Pauline, La Loi de Gloria and La Loi de Marion. Having benefited from the support of the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region and the Charente department, Didier Le Pêcheur’s team was able to access this illustrious building not only to shoot on the forecourt, at the level of the imposing columns, but also inside, in the main room.
Filming in the court of Angoulême, in the company of Josiane Blasko, gave Didier Le Pêcheur the opportunity to give a lot of authenticity to La Loi de Barbara. A series having more than its turn made round-trips in this emblematic place. The former member of the Bronzés having subsequently left the place to his comrade of the same troop, Gerard Jugnot, for another mini-series entitled La Loi d’Alexandre.
La Loi de Barbara was created by Celine and Martin Guyot.
Angoulême Courthouse
Built in 1826 on the site of the former Jacobin convent, the Angoulême courthouse is recognizable by its imposing columns.
The courthouse project was entrusted to the architect Paul Abadie. In neo-classical style, this building dominates Place Francis Louvel. All that remains of the Jacobin convent today is the garden, now transformed into a public space on which sits a 19th century fountain. All the important cases of the region are judged here.
