“There would be a small house at the exit of the city”

The woman from the agency (Raphaëline Goupilleau)

Having become depressed, Taillandier (Patrick Chesnais) suddenly decides to leave his family and go far away from home. On his way, he crosses the road of Marylou (Jeanne Lambert), a lost teenager. He decides to take her under his wing. In order to live decently, he decided to go to the Agence Fort in the town of La Brée-les-Bains on the island of Oléron.

Welcome Aboard is an adaptation of Eric Holder’s 1998 novel of the same name. Jean Becker’s son, Louis, encourages him to read the novel. At first reading, the director finds it too dark. He would have liked to make a bright and optimistic film. Soon after, he saw the potential of his story to express his idea.
