“Excusez-moi”

Tom

Already well tested by a train journey, a chaotic crossing of the Moulière forest, a boat ride on the wheels and a landing on a busy beach, the future groom Tom (Jean-Philippe Bèche) finds himself in another wood, in front of the abbey of Nouaillé-Maupertuis.

In fact, it was the second time that the young man passed through this housing estate, since the “Moulière forest” was in fact a wood near the Nouaille-Maupertuis housing estate.

And yet this short sequence was totally improvised. If the abbey was on the program, the little touch of humor was the result of a little clumsiness. Jean-Philippe Bêche was simply going to pass through the woods with the religious building in the background, but he accidentally bumped into a tree. In a burst of improvisation, the actor apologized, a direct reference to the Guerliguet, but this scene was not planned. It was, of course, kept for editing.

60.000

Dynamic Vienne, in which a short promotional film about the Vienne department is shown, is accompanied by an audiovisual attraction consisting of a water curtain using nearly 60,000 litres of water per hour operating in a closed circuit.

Abbaye de Nouaillé-Maupertuis

The Abbaye de Nouaillé-Maupertuis was founded at the end of the 7th century. It is by wanting to move away from Poitiers that the monks settled near a river, the Miosson.

Looking for peace and quiet, the monks of Saint-Hilaire de Poitiers moved about fifteen kilometers away from the city. Finding the area to their liking, they founded their abbey, first attached to their former order, then independent from the beginning of the 9th century.

At the same time, the monks decided to change the name of the institution to that of Saint-Junien, founder of the Poitevin monastery of Marié-Lévescault. His tomb is, moreover, integrated into the crypt of the church whose sarcophagus, with its exceptional painted decoration, is visible today at the back of the choir.

After the French Revolution, the abbey became a parish church, a function that is still performed today. Classified as a historical monument in 1846, 1945 and 1957, it is still possible to see its moat, its ramparts and towers, vestiges of the 13th century fortifications.
