If several scenes take place at the level of 4 Quai de la République, the team of the director Sébastien Marnier did not occupy the public space very long. A proper closure was indeed essential to stage the sequences in which Marina Foïs intervenes. His first meeting with Jérémie Elkaïm in particular, is one of the most memorable moments of the film in that it allows the character of the ex-Robin Hood to confront his past for the first time.
The real estate agency in which the character played by Jérémie Elkaïm works does not actually exist. The choice of the address on the quai de la République in Saintes was indeed dictated by the presence of an empty commercial space. A place that the decorators of the film team were able to transform into a very credible real estate agency. Since then, the agency has of course closed and life has resumed its course on the banks of the Charente.
Very invested in her character, Marina Foïs described it in front of Mouloud Achour in the program Le Gros Journal : “She’s someone who is struggling, who is into survival but who is not submissive. She’s someone who is willing to do anything to get back what she feels is owed to her.”
Marina Foïs has been nominated for a Cesar for best actress for her role in Irreproachable.
4 Quai de la République
The Quai de la République is an essential meeting place in the city of Saintes and is located in the historic district.
It is impossible to miss the Quai de la République. Surrounded by some of the most popular tourist sites, such as the Saint-Pierre de Saintes cathedral, the Abbaye aux Dames, the Cité Musicale and the Palais de Justice, the Quai de la République is particularly popular during the summer months.
