“Dans un bal du faubourg

Son homme est un artiste

C’est un drôle de petit gars

Un accordéoniste

Qui sait jouer la java.”

L’accordéoniste (Michel Emer)

In 1963, Édith Piaf (Marion Cotillard) triumphed at Bobino, a mythical Parisian theatre created in 1873.

86 274 793

This is the amount in dollars of revenue generated by the film worldwide (66 million euros).

Before taking the stage at Bobino, she gives an interview to Michel Emer (Aubert Fenoy), composer-performer. He then hummed L’accordéoniste. He likes that look right away. She recorded it and the song became one of the great successes of her career.

Bobino

Bobino is one of the most famous venues in Paris. It is located in the 14th arrondissement of Paris and can accommodate up to 900 spectators.

Bobino has undergone a great evolution since its inauguration in 1873; first a guinguette, then a café-concert and finally an auditorium. The establishment takes its name from a famous clown and puppeteer of the 19th century. The establishment closed in 1984 and was completely razed to the ground the following year.

A new version of Bobinche, his nickname, opened at the same location in 1991 but failed to attract a large enough audience and the adventure ended in 2009. Work began the following year to increase its capacity to 900 spectators. The magic works again.
