“Perhaps we should add this butterfly to our collection, no?”

Achille Aubergine (Jean Rougerie)

James Bond, through Sir Godfrey Tibbett (Patrick Macnee) meets his French counterpart, Achille Aubergine. This one informs him about Max Zorin at the splendid restaurant Le Jules Verne.

During a small show organized by the establishment, May Day (Grace Jones) manages to get backstage and kills the security officer before fleeing down the stairs of the Tower.

Agent 007 hastened to chase her out of the premises.

1920

Achille Aubergine is inspired by another famous character, Hercule Poirot, created in 1920. Indeed, Achilles is a Greek hero’s first name like Hercules, and Aubergine is a vegetable name like “Poirot” (“leek”).
