“Captain America is a good man who wants to do the right thing. He doesn’t want to be the symbol of America, he wants to be the symbol of good.”

Chris Evans

The last of the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s superheroes to get his own movie, Captain America makes a thunderous entrance into our time, ready for the first Avengers lap of honor.

The latter being about to be trained by Nick Fury. It is notably because he was a fan of his work as a special effects designer on the first Star Wars that Kevin Feige entrusted the direction of Captain America: The First Avenger to Joe Johnston.

A director who was able to revive the atmosphere of Rocketeer, his 1991 feature film, with vintage imagery worthy of the great adventure stories of yesteryear.

Captain America Marvel Legends Shield

The main role was given to Chris Evans, after Will Smith, Sam Worthington or Ryan Phillippe were considered.

This actor, who superhero fans had already been able to admire in the role of the Human Torch in the two installments of the Fantastic Four.

An actor with a muscular body that the production had to slim down in order to allow him to play Steve Rogers when he is only a clumsy and fragile soldier.

Joe Johnston having shot the scenes a first time with Chris Evans while Leander Deeny, the British interpreter chosen for his morphology, reproduced them on his side.

The body of the latter having been attached to Evans’ head in post-production, for a striking result on screen.

300 000

This is Chris Evans’ salary in dollars for this first movie. Salary having reached 15 million on Captain America: Civil War.

Times Square

Manhattan neighborhood, Times Square is the place for all meetings in New York. Inhabitants and tourists meet by the light of the gigantic neon lights.

It never gets dark in Times Square. Since the advent of electric advertising in the early 20th century, the “Crossroads of the World” has been flooded with light.

And despite its many artifices, Times Square has reflected the city in its true light throughout the ages: the grandeur of Broadway, the decadence of the 1929 stock market crash, the liberation of morals, insecurity, renewal, flamboyance…
