Address The Westin Bayshore Vancouver, 1601 Bayshore Dr., Vancouver, BC V6G 2V4, Canada

The Westin Bayshore, a Marriott hotel, was built in 1961 as The Bayshore Inn.

It is the lower part that was first erected. Later, in 1970, the tower was added to allow the hotel to increase its capacity to 499 rooms.

In 1972, then-fugitive billionaire Howard Hughes moved into the penthouse on the top floor of the hotel for 6 months.

Redeveloped in 2015 after a record-breaking $290 million sale, the property is now one of the country’s premier hotels.
