Address The Mayo Hotel 115 W 5th St, Tulsa, OK 74103, USA

A jewel of Art Deco architecture, the Mayo hotel was created in 1925 under the leadership of Cass A. and John D. Mayo.

It was following the success of their furniture store that the two Mayo brothers decided to build a luxury hotel in the city then considered the oil capital of the world. With 600 serviced rooms, the Mayo is the first in Tulsa to offer running chilled water and ceiling fans. Over the years, all the celebrities passing through town have stopped there, such as Elvis Presley, Babe Ruth, Lucille Ball, Charlie Chaplin and John F. Kennedy. Closed in 1981 after being classified as a historic monument, it was renovated and opened its doors again, brand new, in 2009, ready to write a new chapter in its glorious history.
