Built in 1929 by architect Leland A. Bryant, the Sunset Tower is a historic building and hotel in Los Angeles.

Considered one of the most beautiful art deco buildings in Los Angeles, the Sunset Tower was designated a historic building in 1980.

Formerly known as St. James’s Club and The Argyle, the hotel has hosted John Wayne, Howard Hughes, Billie Burke, Marilyn Monroe, Errol Flynn, Elizabeth Taylor, Frank Sinatra, Paulette Goddard, Zasu Pitts and even gangster Bugsy Siegel, among others.

Nicknamed “the lady”, the Sunset Tower has become an attraction in itself, sometimes more popular than the famous letters “HOLLYWOOD”.
