Address Post Office Pl. Francis Louvel, 16000 Angoulême, France

On the place Francis Louvel, the post office is located on the plateau of the city of Angoulême.

Before the Hotel des Postes et Télécommunications was built in 1903, this beautiful building in Angoulême was home to the Grand-Broquisse printing house.

Place of execution in modern times, the Place Louvel was named Place du murier, in reference to the tree that was used to hang a monk in 1568.

A courthouse was built there in 1826 and in 1835-1836, a fountain designed by Abadie Père appeared. It was named after Francis Louvel, a resistance fighter shot by the Germans in 1944.
