Fortified during the Second World War, the Pointe Espagnole beach is one of the most popular in the Royan area.

Popular with surfers because of its huge waves, this beach takes its name from the wife of the captain of the Antonio Carmenle, a Spanish schooner that ran aground on December 20, 1823. This last one having sunk in the madness by force to wait for her dear and tender. The beach includes a part reserved for naturism. It is also possible to practice fishing.
