Address Peñón de Bernal 04710 El Ejido, Almería, Spain

A rocky massif belonging to the Sierra de Gádor, the Peñón de Bernal reaches an altitude of 755 meters. Today it welcomes hikers for long and steep walks.

Only open from January to May so as not to disturb the reproduction of birds, this natural site is very popular with climbing enthusiasts. It is estimated that it dates from about 200 million years ago. It consists of a limestone monolith planted on a green hill. Nothing remains today of the stairs or the temple of Conan the Barbarian but the setting is still easily identifiable. Moreover, it offers a breathtaking view of the wonders of the region.
