Patrick Henry High School opened in 1964. It welcomes 1,800 students and quickly stands out thanks to the performance of its football and wrestling team. Terry Turner, the creator of That’70’s Show and the screenwriter of Wayne’s World, studied there. In 2015, the school board decided to move the school to the former McDonough Elementary School. It changes its name for the occasion to adopt that of Excel Academy. The building was then transformed into a film location and benefited from the boom in the film and television industry in Georgia.
