Address La Genauraye 86540 Thuré, France

The castle of Genauraye is a residence located in the commune of Thuré in the Vienne department.

The term Genauraye comes from Genouroie in 1437, a reference to the duchy of Châtellerault. Then in 1483, it evolved into Genouraye before taking on the name Genoraye under the curacy of Thuré, to take on the name Genaurais in 1763, to finally be named as we know it today.
Located in the commune of Thuré, the castle belonged to Mr. and Mrs. Borreau at the beginning of the 19th century. In 1896, the house was bought by the Bedel family where Maurice Bedel lived until his death. The places are private and are not visited.
