Built in 1611 in the Tudor style, Hatfield House includes some elements borrowed from Jacobean architecture.

Located in the Hertfordshore, Hatfield House was erected at the request of Robert Cecil, the first Earl of Salisbury. The latter having also been the chief minister of King James 1st of England. The estate currently includes not only Hatfield House, but also Hatfield Palace, the Abbey of Saint Etheldrede, various Tudor-style buildings, gardens, parks and even a river, named Lea. The locations have appeared in movies like Greystoke, Batman, Tomb Raider, The New World, Elizabeth: The Golden Age, Sherlock Holmes and My Week with Marilyn.
