The castle takes place on an old fortified city formerly devoted to the exchange of raw materials. Remarkable thanks to its Mudejar architecture, it was incorporated into the court of Ferdinand III of Castile in 1240 and had several occupants over the years. It was classified as a property of cultural interest on June 25, 185 and today stands out as one of the most visited historical monuments in the region.
