Address Calahorra Castle 18512 La Calahorra, Granada, Spain

A treasure of Andalusia, this 15th century castle sits enthroned on a hill, dominating the surroundings with a certain presence.

Built at the foot of the Sierra Nevada between 1509 and 1512, this remarkably well-preserved castle was declared a Site of Cultural Interest in 1922. In Italian Renaissance style, it is one of the most historically important sites in the province of Granada. It is currently owned by a private individual and is occasionally used for filming.
