A masterpiece of Elizabethan architecture, Burghley House has more than 80 rooms, some of which adopt the Baroque style. The property is surrounded by a large park on which stands an artificial lake dating from 1775. Classified as a Grade I monument, this glorious building is open to visits and regularly hosts filming such as Da Vinci Code and Pride and Prejudice. One of its parts is currently occupied by one of Elizabeth II’s cousins.
