Address Bunkers de la Grande-Côte Unnamed Road, 17420, 17420 Saint-Palais-sur-Mer, France

The bunkers of the Grande-Côte were among the first defense posts used by the German troops of the Occupation. Today, they tell a whole part of the history of the region.

Originally built against a dune that has since been pushed back by the west wind, most of the bunkers on the Grande-Côte of Saint-Palais-sur-Mer have their feet in the water today. Sometimes covered with graffiti, they welcome tourists and walkers and bear witness to one of the darkest pages of the region’s history.
