A 17th century country house, Audley End House is considered one of the finest Jacobean houses in all of England.

Audley End House was built on the site of a Benedictine monastery. Frequented by students from the University of Cambridge, nearby, the house is also inhabited by Elizabeth I during her travels in the region. It is also famous for its gardens such as Capability Brown Park and its remarkable vegetable garden which has been completely restored to its Victorian appearance. The Straw Woman, and the series The Crown and Trust were filmed there.
