Address Ars en ré 27 Quai de la Pré, 17590 Ars-en-Ré, France

One of the most popular markets on the island of Ré, the Quai de la Pré market brings together many vendors in front of the harbor master’s office in Ars-en-Ré.

Perfectly situated, facing the ocean, the Ars-en-Ré market is an almost obligatory stop for all tourists. The town itself, which is part of the network of Villages de pierres et d’eau, has a population of just over 1,300 in the low season. In summer, its population becomes much larger. A local legend states that Egyptian sailors sent by Ramses II would have run aground there during their world tour and would have taken advantage of it to build a small pyramid.
