Founded in 1986, the Alternative Music Foundation is a non-profit music club located at 924 Gilman Street in Berkeley.

The Alternative Music Foundation, nicknamed the Gilman, was the birthplace of the punk revival of the 1990s. Great bands are associated with it such as Green Day, The Offspring, Rancid and Operation Ivy.

Mainly associated with punk rock, the club also hosts bands of grindcore, pop punk, metal or even, more recently, hip hop.
