Address Alexanderplatz 10178 Berlin, Germany

Located in the centre of Berlin, Alexanderplatz is a square named after the Russian emperor Alexander I.

Formerly a market place, Alexanderplatz developed at the beginning of the 20th century thanks to the underground, the tramway and the train passing through it.

Destroyed for the most part during the Second World War, East Germany turned it into a showcase for the grandeur of socialism.

After the fall of the Wall, it underwent several restorations.
