Address 59 Rue Waldeck Rousseau 16000 Angoulême, France

Dominated by the cathedral, this street is located in the center of Angoulême, not far from the city hall and the prefecture.

In the middle of the historical center of Angoulême, the Waldeck-Rousseau street is a very busy place. It is possible to walk, drive or cycle to the promontory of the Saint-Pierre cathedral. It is named after Pierre Waldeck-Rousseau, the former president of the Council of Ministers and former Minister of the Interior, at the end of the 19th and beginning of the 20th century. He is known for having participated in the legalization of trade unions through a law bearing his name, signed in 1884.
