Founded in 1790 by settlers after the American Revolutionary War, the town of Sylviana was marked by the cultivation of cotton. With a population of 2,634, it is located between Savannah, to the south, and Augusta, to the north, in a rural area. A festival on the theme of breeding is organized there every year.
