Arcadia Boat
Glenmallan Jetty is one of the most remote filming locations in Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom. Indeed, in addition to the shooting in Hawaii, the majority of the production took place in England, in the Pinewood studios in London and around, in Surrey in particular. In Scotland, not far from Glasgow, the team shoots the shots where the Arcadia, Lockwood’s (James Cromwell) boat docks.
From the beginning, Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom is motivated by director Juan Antonio Bayona’s desire to make it the most spectacular part of the saga. With a comfortable budget of $170 million, the filmmaker uses CinemaScope technology for the first time in the franchise. He shoots exclusively with Arri Alexa 65 cameras, making the blockbuster the first of the saga to be shot entirely in digital.
Juan Antonio Bayona also winks at several classics of the seventh-art such as the Dracula of the Hammer, Raiders of the Lost Ark or E.T.. Throughout, the filmmaker works in collaboration with Steven Spielberg, considering Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom as the greatest challenge of his life. A film whose scenario also refers to Donald Trump. A way of mocking the president in relation to the fact that one day, the latter doubted that dinosaurs ever existed.
Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom earned $417,719,760 in North America.
Glenmallan
Originally built in the 1960s to service the Royal Naval Armament Depot in Glen Douglas, Glenmallan has undergone an extensive campaign of refurbishment.
This army loading dock took place where once stood an agricultural settlement. Colony of which some vestiges remain. Located on the edge of Loch Long, the pier is able to dock Royal Navy and Royal Fleet Auxiliary ships to be loaded with ammunition, food and spares. When fully operational, Glenmallan jetty could load up to 440 tonnes of explosive onto the boats. She was the subject of a £64million refurbishment campaign in 2020.
