Universal Exports
The headquarters of Universal Exports is actually the headquarters of MI6, the British secret service.
M, Moneypenny, Q or 007 are used. If in the first James Bond films the location is not very explicit, in others like A View to a Kill or Octopussy, the Old War Office building is clearly displayed.
In Licence to Kill, James Bond (Timothy Dalton) does not visit the organisation’s headquarters, but M (Robert Brown) and Moneypenny (Caroline Bliss) can be seen talking about it.
Later, the real MI6 headquarters will be used in The World Is Not Enough and Skyfall.
A New Zealand study found that James Bond had an average of 4.5 drinks in a film. Daniel Craig being the most consuming with 20 units of alcohol per feature film against 12 for Pierce Brosnan, 11 for Sean Connery and Roger Moore, 9 for George Lazenby and 5 for Timothy Dalton.
Old War Office Building
From 1906 to 1964, the Old War Office Building housed the administration of the War Office, a former department.
Completed in 1906, this neo-baroque building was built in only five years for 1.2 million pounds sterling.
Impossible not to get lost in it, the immense building has a thousand rooms on seven floors.
The trapezoidal shape of the building was optimized for its construction. This irregularity is masked thanks to a trompe-l’oeil, its four immense domes.
Its transformation is in progress, the building will soon welcome a luxury hotel and splendid apartments.
