Doc Emmett Brown's House
In 1985, Marty visited Doc Emmett Brown in a small garage next to a Burger King (535 North Victory Boulevard, Burbank). During the opening scene, a press clipping of the Burning Brown Manor is vaguely seen.
When the young man arrives in 1955 and has the reflex to look for his scientific friend, Marty has a strange surprise. The garage was actually attached to the so-called manor house, a splendid mansion.
It is in the toilets of this residence that Doc has the idea of the temporal convector. The scientist uses the garage as a laboratory for his experiments.
In the first installment, Marty rings the doorbell and Doc takes him for a canvasser, and then in the third, they rest there after a hectic night.
Back to the Future was one of Ronald Reagan’s favorite movies. When he heard the cult line about the incumbent president in 1985 he laughed so loudly that he asked the projectionist to rewind so that he could see the part of the film he had missed. In 1986, the 40th President of the United States even quoted Doc in his State of the Union Address, repeating the famous “Where we’re going, we don’t need roads.”.
The Gamble House
Built in 1908-1909 for David B. Gamble, the immense residence is today a museum to be visited.
Designed by the architectural firm of Greene and Greene, who also designed the Robert R. Blacker House and the Thomas Gould Jr. House, the house remained a family property until 1966.
At that time, the descendants of the entrepreneur transferred the residence to the City of Pasadena. Registered with the California Historical Landmark in 1971 and the National Historic Landmark in 1977, it is now a museum where you can visit the interior and gardens.
