25 years of Friends, an anniversary not to be missed.
Friends is 25, so is Central Perk.
From September 7 to October 6, Warner Bros. will be celebrating the 25th anniversary of the cult series from 1990-2000. Every fan has always dreamed of having coffee at Central Perk, listening to Phoebe (Lisa Kudrow) sing “Smelling Cat” and watching Gunther (James Michael Tyler) “try” his luck with Rachel (Jennifer Aniston). A dream, almost, accessible. At 503 Broadway in New York, Central Perk has been completely rebuilt with multiple photocalls and, of course, an exclusive boutique. More than just a nice time to spend, it’s an opportunity not to be missed.
The couch around the world
You’re not in New York at this time? Don’t worry, Warner Bros. thought of everything. The famous orange sofa has been reproduced in several copies and will be on display all over the world on many dates. The opportunity to sit in the mythical sofa, present in the credits as well as in the famous Central Perk. To know where and when to see it, here is the list of dates and places:

A birthday not to everyone’s taste
The Friends experience is a must-see in New York City every day of the year thanks to the series’ famous building at 90 Bedford Street. Nearly 400 tourists come here daily to admire and photograph the residence of their idols. If it’s fun for these fans, it’s much less fun for the locals. Some visitors do not hesitate to sit on the steps of the building, preventing residents from entering, or to damage the premises to retrieve a souvenir, or simply to relieve their bladder.
Friends building
Photographed dozens of times every day, this building is world famous. This typical New York building appears as a prologue to scenes taking place in Rachel (Jennifer Aniston) and Monica’s (Courteney Cox) apartment or Chandler (Matthew Perry) and Joey’s (Matt LeBlanc) apartment. The production chose this building simply because it was John Schaffner’s, the artistic director of the series.
Read moreWarner was planning to install a replica of the couch right in front of the building for the 25th anniversary. A news that did not at all please the inhabitants of the building. The installation of this system would therefore require the privatization of a large parcel of pavement, but also an increase in ridership. The local residents then held a neighbourhood meeting and requested that the permit not be issued to Warner Bros. Too bad for the fans…
