The Goodfellas Diner in New York destroyed by fire
As we mentioned in our Guide New York of 1000 cult locations in movies, series, music, comics, novels, at the time of its release, the diner used to be called the Clinton Diner and was renamed Goodfellas Diner in reference to the movie which was shot on location here. In this scene, Henry Hill (Ray Liotta) and Jimmy Conway (Robert De Niro) find out about Tommy DeVito’s (Joe Pesci) death. The phone booth Jimmy takes his anger out on is no longer there.
Fortunately nobody was injured in the blaze but the building is entirely ruined, as the co-owner Denise Diamantis declared during an interview with The Post: “Everything is destroyed. My God, everything is destroyed”.
However, this isn’t going to set back the owners who have already planned to reopen soon, without giving a date though.
