United Methodist Church of the Village
Piper (Taylor Schilling), the main character, lives in this area where the real Piper Kerman lived. She wrote “Orange is the New Black: My Year in a Women’s Prison”, the book the series is based on. Some scenes were filmed in this church.
Dmitri's russian market
Before closing down, the store run by Dmitri and Galina “Red” Reznikov (Kate Mulgrew), counted the local mafia among the patrons. In reality, it’s the Italian grocery Rosario’s which is also a deli and their pizzas are excellent!

Red gets mixed up with a group of rich Russian ladies in this park with a magnificent view over the Hell Gate Bridge, linking Queens to Randall’s Island and Ward’s Island. 17,000 feet long, it was inaugurated in 1916 and considered, until 1932, as the longest steel arch bridge in the world.
